I DON’T GET WHY PEOPLE THINK JIN AKANISHI’S ‘TEST DRIVE’ SOUNDS TOO AMERICAN. OF COURSE IT SOUNDS AMERICAN! THAT’S WHAT AMERICAN AUDIENCES WANT TO LISTEN TO! IT’S HARD ENOUGH FOR WHITE MUSICIANS TO GET THEIR MUSIC INTO THE CHARTS; DO YOU REALLY THINK A JAPANESE GUY WITH A JAPANESE STYLED POP SONG WOULD HAVE HAD A CHANCE?!

I don’t like how American it sounds is because it sounds like every other song on the radio. It won’t get him noticed and with him being Japanese, Americans will most likely overlook it altogether. He could have taken advantage of the Japanese style and could have had a more creative song that would celebrated the fact he was Japanese and was going to bring it over here.
Hope that makes sense.

Jin releasing songs he wrote himself might work in Japan because he’s already so damn popular over there, but in the US?...
